Crafting a Blade

Yesterday I experienced the lost art of forging, cutting and crafting steel. Knife-making

This is my knife after the 1 day course with Bruce from Lost Arts Knife Making in Clevedon - featuring a collection of shapes made by the other attendees; hunters & chefs.

The handle is carved from Rimu, and the sharpened carbon steel blade is made that with good care it can be passed down to future generations.
